CRYSTAL CHURCH

The idea behind the concept is metamorphosis. The crystal, present inside the walls of the church, is revealed by segmenting and repositioning the opaque perimeter elements (heavy masonry walls), including the paintings that decorate them. The reorganization of the opaque walls in the form of parallel blades, arranged regularly around the central body, creates a permeable body, through which the "crystal" is gradually discovered, as the user moves around it.
The structural colonnade covers the glass volume, providing a solar protection shell, but also large surfaces for painting. Additionally, it has a role in creating games of light and shadow, both inside and outside the church.

Ideea care a stat la baza conceptului este metamorfoza. Cristalul, prezent in interiorul zidurilor bisericii, iese la iveala prin segmentarea si repozitionarea elementelor perimetrale opace (peretii grei de zidarie), cu tot cu picturile ce le decoreaza. Reorganizarea peretilor opaci sub forma de lamele paralele, dispuse regulat in jurul corpului central, creeaza un corp permeabil, prin care se descopera progresiv „cristalul”, pe masura ce utilizatorul se deplaseaza in jurul acestuia.
Colonada, cu rol structural, imbraca volumul de sticla, pentru a oferi o carapace de protectie solara dar si o suprafata ampla pentru pictura. Aditional, are rol in crearea de jocuri de lumina si umbra, atat in interior cat si in exteriorul bisericii.
